Our Mission
We want to make inspirational quotes as loud and popular as news headlines. We hope people will integrate our self-improvement and positive and educational content into their daily practices.
We aspire to encourage readers to explore fresh ideas from the greatest minds through our motivational quote collections. We want our self-improvement articles to help our readers take the quotes deeper and take gradual steps to real and lasting impact and improvement.
We want to collect and share the best ideas humanity has produced.
What is Everyday Power?
Everyday Power is an educational reference website publishing quotes and articles that help people learn new perspectives, skills, and mindsets.
Whether you’re reading a collection of quotes about innovation and technology, or an article on how to increase your confidence, Everyday Power encourages its readers to consume empowering, uniting, and uplifting information.
Reading inspirational quotes helps our readers learn about leaders, heroes, authors, writers, philosophers, and religious leaders, who have all, in their own way, affected the thinking of society.
We don’t see reading quotes as simply spewing platitudes; we see reading inspirational quotes as creating a space for new ideas. We believe new ideas can lead to new routines and behaviors.
Our content helps students (either in high school or college), entry-level workers, or experienced professionals level up.
We all have something important to contribute to our lives, families, communities, and even the world. Tapping into our Everyday Power helps us do that. Many of us are working towards finding that sweet spot where we can best express ourselves and make a difference.
Figuring out the path to fulfillment and success requires putting small, steady efforts towards that goal every day. It is within reach. That’s Everyday Power.
Why read quotes and articles on EverydayPower.com?
We believe that drama, obstacles, and hate are endless, loud, and in our faces. Every single day. So, we need to balance that out.
While we doubt the negatives of life will ever disappear completely, we believe that our ability to navigate life can improve gradually.
We believe that with consistent growth, we can become better at; recognizing opportunities, acting on opportunities, recognizing and accepting our interests and passions, increasing our confidence, and increasing our sense of purpose.
We believe everyone needs a goal to work towards because goals give our life a sense of meaning and purpose.
Who owns and operates Everyday Power?
Jeff Moore, the founder of Everyday Power and EverydayPower.com, first came up with the idea in his New York City apartment.
Jeff was disappointed with how one of his 7th-grade English lessons ended. That day, Jeff, who taught at a public school in Harlem, had assigned his class to read a poem by Tupac, A Rose That Grew From Concrete.
He challenged them to come up with their own conclusions about what the poem meant.
Next, it was the students’ turn to create their own poems comparing life to something else, just as Tupac had done. The students were given laptops to help them generate ideas and provide additional inspiration for their project.
After circling around the room, Jeff noticed that most of his class had celebrity gossip, clothing, sneakers, and music videos on their screens. Jeff interpreted this moment as a stark realization of how easy it is to get distracted by the day’s trends, headlines, and sensationalism.
Even worse, the time spent consuming such sensational content directly negatively influences the time spent on activities that are beneficial for building a self-determined life.
Two years later, Jeff founded Everyday Power, a site dedicated to providing educational and inspirational material in a relevant and meaningful way. Jeff was an avid reader of Maya Angelou, Ralph Waldo Emerson, Martin Luther King Jr., Malcolm X, Frederick Douglass, and Robert Greene, and appreciated how they could articulate complicated and important ideas.
Everyday Power publishes content on such topics as career advancement, mindset, productivity, purpose, and success. Everyday Power has grown to 150K daily views and over 700 guest authors.
Jeff has also spoken at TEDx about developing a positive mindset despite life’s biggest obstacles.
Everyday Power has served as a member of the press for notable events like:
Web Summit (Lisbon, Portugal)
World Business Forum (Lincoln Center, New York City)
Notable interviews on Everyday Power:
Dr. Oz (Host of FOX’s The Dr. OZ show, surgeon, author)
Grant Harris (Former Senior Advisor to Barack Obama)
Simon Sinek (NYT bestselling author, TED “How great leaders inspire action”)
Tom Bilyeu (co-founder of the billion-dollar startup, QuestNutrition)
Ray Zinn (Silicon Valley’s longest-running CEO of 37 years, Micrel)
Allen Maldanado (actor in ABC’s Black-ish, entrepreneur)
Kai Green (professional bodybuilder and actor)
Why the name, Everyday Power?
“I called it Everyday Power because change has to happen every day. And, an everyday person can do it. The goal is to encourage people to trust themselves enough to set goals that matter to them because goals can change our entire life. A goal gives us a sense of purpose.” – Jeff Moore
