Who was Robert Schuller?

Robert Harold Schuller was a man of many hats. 

He was a pastor, motivational speaker, and author. 

However, he was best known for his career as a Christian televangelist and his weekly Hour of Power television program. 

He hosted the Hour of Power from 1970 all the way to 2010.

Schuller and his production company used the building to record thousands of sermons and broadcast them to millions of people across the globe.

What happened to Robert Schuller?

By most metrics, Schuller had a very successful career.

He served as a pastor and televangelist for half a century. 

Schuller is credited with pioneering drive-in movie theater preaching where church members parked in lots and received sermons.

Many suggest his Hour of Power was the most popular televised church program of all time. 

The Crystal Cathedral Ministries filed for bankruptcy in 2010, citing a 43 million dollar debt. 

Shortly after his retirement, Schuller died from esophageal cancer. 

His diagnosis may have been directly related to cigarette use. 

Schuller retired in 2010, and his grandson, Bobby, took over the ministries.
