How to Create A Personal Development Plan

The path to personal development is a windy road with many challenges, but having a good plan will help you navigate it easily.

If you start now, and start small, big things can happen.

There are a few general rules to follow when working to develop yourself personally or professionally.

Keep reading to discover the five golden rules of a great personal development plan!

Rule #1. Set one goal

If you are ready to accelerate your personal development and make the changes you promised yourself, you must start with one goal.

Be specific, clear, and concise, and set a realistic time frame for completion.

For example, rather than saying, “I want to lose weight,” say, “I want to lose 5 lbs by August 1”.

This is the most important aspect of personal development.

Rule #2. Surround yourself with support

Every successful athlete, business person, scholar, parent, etc., acknowledges that their success was achieved with a tremendous amount of support along the way.

Support can be a coach, therapist, friend, partner, book, YouTube video, support group – you name it.

Share your goals with successful people and people who want to achieve the same thing as you, and you will gain personal development.

Rule #3. Start today

If you are even thinking about making a change in your life or wanting more adventure in your life….the time to start is today.

Now.

Right now.

That is a big key to personal development.

Do one action that moves you one step forward concerning your dreams and ambitions.

There is never a “good time” or “right time.”

The time is now, today.

Rule #4. Do one thing every day that moves you forward

One of the major obstacles people face in making changes in their lives is setting lofty goals and thinking too far ahead.

Some even make the mistake of creating ‘to-do’ lists that are too long and overwhelming.

Try one thing every day that moves you forward.

This is an excellent way to jumpstart your personal growth.

Before you know it…you will have made significant changes in your life.

Rule #5. Celebrate yourself!

Jumpstarting your personal development requires commitment, effort, and, most of all, courage.

It is essential to celebrate your successes – however big or small.

Acknowledge and celebrate every step you take.

Cheer yourself on, pat yourself on the back, share your accomplishments with others, and appreciate your bravery in trying new things.

You deserve the credit for making changes!

Yes, I have tried some of these methods. Furthermore, I want to add two major points in this regard. One is reinforcement, reward ourself if you have achieved ur goal, for example, take a good cup of tea, if u have completed ur homework or official assignment or any other goal for persons development. Similarly, to enhance self control you may use nehetive reinforcement, for example, skip ur cup of coffee if u have not achieved ur goal today. Secondly, self-analysis is inevitable in personal development, make sekf analysis chart to be filled on daily basis before sleeping, make some indicators of good behaviors u want to opt. Right good deeds and bad deeds u have done today, if good deeds are more than bad deeds than be grateful to Almighty Allah and be persistent to it, if bad deeds are more than do apologise to Allah Almighty and urself and try to minimise next day.Keep on selecting targets to adopt new good habits and abolishing bad habits day by day. Keep on praying, have strong positive relationship to Allah Almighty as in ur personal development u have to work on all dimensions following bio-psycho-socio-spirtual model of health /personal development. Thanks, stay blessed and plz do remember me in ur kind prayers.
