Christmas Carol is a computer-animated movie based on Charles Dickens‘ 1843 classic novel of the same name.
The movie is written and directed by Robert Zemeckis and stars Jim Carrey as the voice of Ebenezer Scrooge and includes the voices of Gary Oldman, Colin Firth, Bob Hoskins, Robin Wright Penn, and Cary Elwes as well.
Walt Disney Studios previously had adapted the novel into Mickey’s Christmas Carol (1983) and The Muppet Christmas Carol (1992), but this is the first adaption of the story using CGI.
The movie’s plot shows Ebenezer Scrooge as a selfish and money-hungry man who treats others with contempt.
While he sleeps on Christmas Eve, three spirits visit him one at a time and show him Christmas Past, Christmas Present, and Christmas Future.
When he sees how he has treated others and what his future looks like, Scrooge is a changed man upon waking, and he goes out of his way to show others the Spirit of Christmas!
