When the Dream Chases You: Recognizing Alignment and Unexpected Rewards

Recently, I shared on Instagram: “You know you’re moving in alignment when the dream chases you.” For some, this resonated instantly. For others, it required a bit of clarification. Let’s dive deeper into what this means.

Anyone who engages with my content is already a hard worker with a vision—that’s why it resonates with them. Having a vision, discipline, and work ethic is essential to achieving your goals.

Another critical piece of the puzzle is recognizing when your hard work is paying off and when life begins to meet you halfway.

Recognizing When the Dream Chases You

Hard work creates opportunities, but often, those opportunities aren’t immediately obvious. When you’re in alignment, you’ll notice unexpected blessings—offers, opportunities, and outcomes you didn’t directly aim at or work for. It’s crucial to recognize these moments for two reasons: first, to express gratitude, and second, to make the most of them.

For example, let’s talk about creating content. At first, it’s intimidating to put yourself out there, especially because we’re hyper-aware of others in the same space who are doing it well. Social media amplifies this awareness, making it easy to compare yourself and feel inadequate.

But if you stick with it, creating content becomes second nature. You develop your own process, and before you know it, things start coming to you—followers, opportunities, collaborations—that you didn’t explicitly chase. That’s the dream chasing you.

Alignment in Fitness and Performance

The same principle applies to fitness. Let’s say you want to lose weight or improve your athletic performance. You commit to training, elevate your physical and mental systems, and address limiting beliefs.

Initially, the goal might be small—like shedding 10 pounds or scoring a few more points per game—but over time, the rewards multiply.

For example, as you lose weight, your confidence grows, your energy increases and you become more decisive. Exercise releases serotonin and dopamine, boosting your mood and making you more enthusiastic and ambitious.

These additional benefits weren’t part of the original goal—they’re part of the blessings of moving in alignment.

Similarly, if you’re an athlete working to improve your game, you might aim for incremental progress, but the compound effect of your efforts leads to results beyond what you imagined.

You don’t just hit your target; you exceed it, and new opportunities—bigger roles, better teams, more attention—start coming your way.

Why Everything in Life Happens in Clusters

Here’s an important concept to understand: life happens in clusters. Just as stars in the universe aren’t individual points but clusters of galaxies, achievements come with a cluster of rewards. That’s why people say, “When it rains, it pours.”

When you focus on a goal, you don’t just achieve that goal—you attract related blessings. Pursuing something meaningful sets off a chain reaction of good things, some of which you directly work for and others that simply align with your energy and effort.

Reflecting on Your Path to Alignment

Take a moment to reflect: think about a time when you pursued something with undivided attention. When you achieved it, what other positive outcomes came with it? Maybe you landed a promotion at work?

Sure, you earned more money and responsibility, but you also gained confidence and validation, realizing you could achieve more than you thought.

Now, think about your current desires. What is your priority goal right now?

Don’t worry about the additional rewards; just focus on the goal itself, knowing that when you achieve it, a cluster of blessings will follow.

The Balance of Effort and Flow

Alignment is about balancing hard work with the flow of unexpected opportunities. It’s about putting in the effort while remaining open to the blessings that fall into your lap.

This balance reinforces your belief in manifestation and the power of intention.

When you’re truly in alignment, life feels like it’s moving in slow motion. Whether you’re playing basketball, designing a cake, or writing an article, the pieces come together seamlessly. There’s urgency but no anxiety. Everything flows.

Why Alignment Matters

Reflecting on your alignment is essential. It helps you trust yourself, your intuition, and your path. It’s like recording yourself doing a task and watching it back to make adjustments in real-time.

This practice of a self-feedback loop keeps you moving forward, making micro-tweaks to stay on course.

So, I challenge you to reflect on a time when you pursued something and received more than you asked for. Then, consider your current desires. What’s your top priority? Focus on that, knowing that alignment will bring unexpected blessings your way.

Much respect. Keep going.
