What did you learn from these George Soros quotes?

He has had a tremendous impact on financial markets around the world, but it is his philanthropic work that should get more attention than it does.

In August 2009, Soros donated $35 million to the state of New York to benefit underprivileged children. The money was given to parents who had benefit cards at the rate of $200 per child and there was no limit on the number of kids who could qualify. He donated millions to democratic PACs, which is why he is a target for the extreme right-wing.

Soros does support ‘progressive’ policies like giving scholarships to black South Africans under apartheid back in 1979. Today, he argues that the war on drugs caused more problems than the drugs themselves.

George Soros believes that “in philanthropy, one should do the right thing, whether or not it succeeds.” This, and the other George Soros quotes, do not sound like the words of a monster. They are the words of a Jewish boy who survived occupied Hungary during WWII. We could all probably learn something from him.
