What life-altering realizations have you had lately
Realizations is a broad term and can mean literally anything.
Each realization is meaningful to the person having them but might not be important to someone else.
They can result from soul searching, an event in our lives, or even a conversation with someone else.
My latest realization came from nearly a year of walking around the lake by my house.
I had set out on a mission to ‘find myself’ again.
My work misery made it obvious that I was not doing what I wanted to do with my life.
I walked around this lake every day for 10 months—in the middle of a thunderstorm, a blizzard, early morning hours, and even in the dark.
Regardless of work or anything else happening, going on my walk was a priority.
I realized so many things, foremost that I had always known my purpose and calling was to be a writer.
I wanted to reach people and to have the words I used communicate things that would resonate with people.
How I ended up managing a retail business instead was not the question I needed to ask myself.
I needed to identify a way back to writing to avoid going mad.
Life is too short not to act on your realizations when you have them.
Don’t waste the moments of clarity that try to nudge you onto a new path.
Instead, embrace them and let yourself flourish.
