The Best Self Help Quotes and Ideas to Maximize YOU!
1. “There is nothing noble in being superior to your fellow man; true nobility is being superior to your former self.”― Ernest Hemingway
There is no competition. We can use business or sports as a metaphor to illustrate that the most successful businesses and athletes don’t focus on pushing their competition out of the game – they want to play against them – they focus on being a better company or athlete than they were last year, last month and last week. Let’s operate from a similar psychology.
Who were you last year, last month, last week and even yesterday? Are you better than before? What have you learned, experienced, let go of, earned, created and realized? There is no outside competition. We win or lose from within!

2. “Those who cannot change their minds cannot change anything.”― George Bernard Shaw
Before we decide to take ‘massive action’ and ‘take responsibility’ for our lives, we need to change our mind about what is possible for us.
What do we really think we are capable of? What are we thinking about, when we think about change? How often do we talk ourselves out of change?
Dedicate some time, practice and energy on simply changing your mind, how you see yourself and your worth.
3. “Formal education will make you a living; self-education will make you a fortune.”― Jim Rohn
Any Manager, Executive, CEO, NGO Chair, Social Entrepreneur that I know or studied, have all set aside to work on themselves. It’s easy to exhaust ourselves at work, but how much time are spending on our growth and development – as a professional and as a person.
Think about the personal and human skills that will help improve all areas of your life – stress management, routine exercise and exercise routines, communication skills, meditation, prayer, giving loved ones genuine attention, pursuing habits and interests, etc. How much have you invested in you?
4. “You can’t be happy unless you’re unhappy sometimes.” ― Lauren Oliver
Let’s be real, it’s very difficult to be happy all the time. Almost impossible! And it’s OK to own that. No matter how much you work on yourself, you still experience all of life and the full range of human emotions. It’s OK!

5. “I do not believe in making the right decision, I make a decision and make it right.” ― Muhammad Ali Jinnah
Take the pressure off making a big decision. Many times the pressure can cause confusion, which will make the decision making process very difficult.
Every decision we make will take commitment, energy and perseverance. There is no ‘easy’ choice. The question is, which decision excites you more? Which decision can you commit to for a longer period of time?

8. “Don’t cry because it’s over, smile because it happened.” ― Dr. Seuss
What if we turned grief into celebrations – how would that impact our ability to move on and move forward? We can never change what just happened, or what has been lost, but we can always control how we interpret the ‘loss’. Celebrate that you even had it at all.

I related to,
#5 “I do not believe in making the right decision, I make a decision and make it right.”
― Muhammad Ali Jinnah
I struggle with decisions in every aspect of my life. It is giving me extreme hurt and overwhelming my every day! I feel like giving up is the only answer sometimes.
I can’t decide what type of discipline is right for me to use for my kids so I pretty much don’t do anything. I can’t figure out HOW I can get myself to STOP wanting to get get high… so I continue to get high. I second guess al.ost every decision at work and now I look scattered and crazy! I haven’t let the indecisiveness inside me get this bad ever… I’m not sure why it happened but I am so insecure in everything I do that my life is falling apart. Not only my life…. ME, I have always been the sort of unhappy, depressed and addictive type of personality which has always kept me on the edge of collapse basically…. but now I guess I’m collapsing. I KNOW what people are supposed to do to get the mind on a positive level but since I care so little for myself I don’t think I would believe a nice or positive word from myself or anyone if it was about me. Any suggestions?
